10 things to consider when choosing a Stylist for your Wedding Day…

  1. Choose a hairstylist with a strong Bridal portfolio.
  2. You need to contact early to check budget and availability as they can get booked up over a year in advance for your chosen date.
  3. You want to look your best on the day and want to be able to trust the stylist can communicate your vision.
  4. Bridal hair styling is very creative, so it’s important to find somebody who has the right abilities and passion to style your hair in the way you want.
  5. Choose a separate make-up artist and hairdresser if you want the wow factor in both. They are very different jobs and it takes many years to get skilled and qualified in hairdressing alone.
  6. Ask which products they use. Professionals will always use great products that are tried and tested.
  7. Make sure you get along with the stylist and feel comfortable with suggestions either of you make.
  8. The stylist should provide a consultation, taking into consideration type and texture of hair and talk about accessories flowers, vines, combs and veils.
  9. Be prepared that you may have to wear clip in hair extensions or padding to create the extra volume needed, even if you are going to wear your hair up. Your hairdresser will be able to recommend a good brand.
  10. Try and have the the hair and makeup trial on the same day to get the overall look. A trial is a must, a few different styles is needed to get just the right look
